July 11 One month to go!Today we reach that uncomfortable place - with just one month to go before the pedalling begins. So much still to do of course, however it pays not to get too stressed about that fact. In the last day or two we have sent out mail to many of the companies in and around the Tadley area, and so if you are reading this page as a result of one of the leaflets that came in the post - welcome onboard.
Sunday morning saw Eleanor and I at the BBC Berkshire premises for a radio interview with Claire Catford - which we enjoyed immensely. Not too sure how many people were awake at 7.30 a.m. on Sunday to hear what we had to say though. However the interview was taped by Eleanor's husband and I have emailed it to friends and family. A copy of the interview will feature on the http://www.christchurchtadley.org.uk/lejog website before the day is over.
So - how is the training coming along?
Mmmm - that is a challenging question. I know that we are all fit, but how fit is fit enough? And is there a sense in which we will get fit along the way?
As you can see I am battling with the inner voices of doubt and dissention!
The fact is that over the next few weeks the miles will be clocked up with a number of long distance trundles around the Berkshire and Hampshire countryside as we notch up our final training rides. In the midst of that we will be making final purchases of food and equipment. We will also taking our families away for a few days holiday before waving goodbye to them, and hello to the many sheep gathered along the trail to stare at us, and wonder what on earth we are about.
