Over the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of June we travelled to the New Forest, Hampshire, to test out the campervan we will use as base during the bike ride in August. Hollands Wood campsite served as venue for the test and I was pleased to combine my 40th birthday with this outing. Some friends joined with their tents, dogs, kids, etc. to make it a social occasion. Bikes were fitted to the van's carrier, and we also tested the onboard shower cubicle to see if it was large enough for a 6ft body frame. All worked well. There was time for a few bike rides in and around the New Forest, but we made sure that the emphasis was on relaxation and laughter.
