Three weeks have passed since my knee operation, and in that time I have made a good recovery. There is still a bit of swelling within the knee, but it does seem to be on the way to full use again. This week I managed an hour of solid riding, just to test how the knee functions under a bit of stress, and so far so good. My intention was to use February to get back into shape, and that appears to be a realistic choice, but finding the motivation to head outdoors into the cold is still a challenge, injury or not!

 

The major achievement for us is that we have now completed the brochure we will be using as a tool to secure funding for the ride itself. Getting all the information together for said brochure was quite something, involving for instance the acquisition of software for the route planning and for the desktop publishing, learning how to use the programs, and then producing something that would do the event proud. We met earlier this week to begin the next phase of our planning, namely, accommodation and arranging speaking opportunities en-route, and also to obtain some "John Wesley" outfits - so that we can ride into some of the towns looking the part...
